استهجن "بن رودس" نائب مستشار الأمن القومي الأمريكي، للتواصل الاستراتيجي خلال حكم الرئيس باراك أوباما "المجزرة" التي نفذتها قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي بحق منازل سكان منطقة وادي الحمص بالقدس المحتلة والتي ألحقت الدمار بـ100 منزل.
وقال رودس في تغريدة على حسابه بموقع التواصل الاجتماعي تويتر: "تخيل أن منزلك تم تدميره، والسبب هو من أنت، وهذه هي النقطة".

من جانبها أشادت النائبة المسلمة في الكونغرس الأمريكي إلهان عمر، بتعليق رودس على تدمير منازل وادي الحمص بالقدس المحتلة وقالت: "بن على حق. يستحق الفلسطينيون أن يقرروا مصيرهم والحصول على دولة مثل جيرانهم، وليس تدمير ممتلكاتهم والاحتلال العسكري غير المحدود لأرضهم. يجب أن يتوقف هذا".
